P A Collacott & Co were appointed as Main Contractor to carry out the removal, upgrade and replacement of three large incoming switchgear panels serving the University Library, Grange Road, Cambridge.

The project brought the need for careful pre-construction survey in order to establish not only the electrical requirements, but the need for temporary supplies to cover all security systems and climate control plant to protect stored artifacts and materials of high monetary and historical value.

The project was carried out over a tight programme timeframe and during the Covid restrictions. P A Collacott & Co are extremely proud of the success of the project meeting the Clients brief and required outcomes. Minimal disruption was caused to the daily operations of the University Library. P A Collacott electrical operatives were highly praised both by the library facilities team and Estate Management.
